Manjaro: Project VintOS (MPROV) is a personalized respin of Manjaro Linux created by myself for Linux lovers everywhere. It is based upon Arch Linux, which makes it extremely powerful. MPROV is fast, elegant, lightweight, and extremely easy to use. It's good for use on a traditional "desktop" setting, and laptops as well. Because MPROV is so light when run without compositing, one could install it on a 10+ year old computer and be confident that (while it may not be a speed demon) the machine will easily run well enough for everyday computing. The "revamped" part of the name refers to the fact that throughout the development of VintOS/MPROV, the distro has had two distinct looks, and the "classic" look was chosen in the latest release to be the official UI.
DISCLAIMER: Manjaro: Project VintOS is NOT currently under active development. The tool that I used to build my respin, ManjaroISO, is no longer useable. Until I can learn a new way to build MPROV, the available version will be an older release. HOWEVER! If you are willing to update the system and fix the broken updates from this version of Manjaro, it is still very useable. Manjaro, is a rolling-release distribution of Linux. This means that you can use ANY age of Manjaro DVD and still have the latest version after some updating. |
